St. Jude Family Project is an Organic Farming Training Center registered in Uganda as a non-governmental organization. Founded by Josephine Kizza and her Late husband John Kizza, St. Jude’s family Projects rose from a humble beginning. The non-governmental training center now trains and supports local farmers that want to become sustainable and want to learn better farming practices. Josephine Kizza says, “We train them in agro-ecology and organic farming, using integrated systems to prevent waste and mitigate the effects of climate change. We work with women farmers’ groups, youth, schools, and in the local community. We have also initiated women’s cooperatives and a dried fruit processing plant to add value to crops to provide better livelihoods for farmers.”
