This season at Thanal Agro Ecology Centre, Wayanad, Kerala, India, the Cool Season Vegetable Block yielded 53 kg of cabbage, 36 kg of Chinese cabbage, 6 kg of broccoli, 7.2 kg of radish, and 4 kg of potato. All crops were grown without synthetic inputs on a farm managed entirely through ecological practices.
Soil health was maintained using jeevamrith, garlic–turmeric botanical extracts, Trichoderma, and Beauveria. No chemicals. No shortcuts.
The block was established to demonstrate that diversified vegetable production is viable under Wayanad’s agro-climatic conditions. These results clearly affirm that possibility.
