In 2023, Sri Lovely Field started their farming in a staggered manner as they were recovering from the COVID-19 situation. During the pandemic, Malaysia restricted movement causing them to halt their farming activities.
This FLS is a paddy field that functions as agricultural land and a learning center for various farmers, volunteers, students, and researchers. They use SRI (System of Rice Intensification) methods and do not use chemical pesticides. Students at various levels, from undergraduate to postdoctoral, from different institutions and countries, are constantly involved in this learning ground, which provides excellent knowledge.
This FLS produces products such as unpolished brown rice and vegetables, contributing to rural economic development and providing a livelihood for the local community working on the farm.
Furthermore, this farm is annually certified by MyOrganic Malaysia, which is certified by the Department of Agriculture, Malaysia.
