Over the last three to four decades, Asia has seen a real shift in policies by national governments on agriculture and, particularly, the control over farmers’ seeds. In this article, PAN Asia Pacific (PANAP) provides a comprehensive review of historical and existing laws by different Asian countries that enabled the monopoly of seeds by agribusiness interests.
