The Future is Female: Women Farmers and Agroecology

In celebration of International Day of Rural Women and 16 Days of Global Action on Agroecology, a discussion between three IPAM field learning sites Support for Women in Agriculture and Environment from Uganda, Gita Pertiwi from Indonesia, and CARITAS Nepal from Nepal was facilitated by Vikalpani Women’s Federation from Sri Lanka, on the important role of women farmers in advancing agroecology, given that the latter upholds their rights and supports their gender role in ensuring climate resiliency, food sufficiency, and nutrition security at home and in their communities through food sovereignty.
