Member field learning sites offer trainings on different agroecology techniques and innovations. These can be on-site, online or hybrid that may be offered for free or with fees. FLSs also facilitate trainings and workshops on advocacy and movement-building for agroecology.

Backyard Kitchen Gardens

Kudumbam organises a 3-day work camp at the Kolunji Ecological Farm for college students in preparation of soil mixture, filling the mixture in the nursery pocket, sowing seeds, and planting of seedlings. The orientation and training programmes highlights the importance of establishing backyard kitchen gardens for their household food and nutritional securities.

Gardening Classes

Nasira Habib teaches online how to start, grow and maintain an organic food garden at home, workplace and in the community. The course includes building living soil; the critical role of soil food web; mutualistic roles of plants and microorganisms to keep plants healthy and help plants to grow nutrient-rich and delicious food; understanding garden ecosystem and microclimate; composting and uses of compost, sowing calendar, starting seeds, transplanting seedlings; appropriate watering; companion planting, beneficial insects, maintenance of plant health and much more.

Workshop on Climate Justice

Rural Women’s Leadership Training

Envisioned to strengthen the leadership capacities, sharpen the perspectives and develop the skills of rural women to empower them. The training aims to teach women about land, food and agricultural issues at the local and global levels as it impacts women. The training uses creative learning methods and strategies, such as games, workshops, and community visits.
