We’re advancing our people-led agroecology agenda at COP30, alongside our partners and fellow advocates. Over the past few days, we’ve organized key events highlighting agroecology as a powerful, people-centered climate solution.

November 12
PANAP, through our Asian People’s Exchange on Food Sovereignty and Agroecology (APEX), held an official COP30 side event:

”Agroecology as a non-market climate solution under Article 6.8”
The session explored how agroecology can serve as a non-market approach under Article 6.8 of the Paris Agreement—helping countries strengthen their climate commitments through their NDCs and NAPs.
Co-organizers: Alliance Bioversity International–CIAT, Agroecology Coalition, Biovision Foundation, and IFOAM Organics International.

November 14
We co-hosted another powerful session under the Cúpula Dos Povos (People’s Summit), which brought together 1,300+ social movements and civil society groups worldwide as a counter to the official COP30 talks:

”Agroecology and action research: Grassroots climate solutions in Brazil and Asia”
Together with the National Agroecology Alliance (ANA), World Animal Protection Brazil (WAP BR), and Peoples Rising for Climate Justice (PRCJ), we exchanged experiences and community-led initiatives from Brazil and across Asia—showcasing how grassroots agroecology drives real climate action.
PANAP partners participating in these events include BARCIK (Bangladesh), MASIPAG (Philippines), SERUNI (Indonesia), and SHISUK (Bangladesh).
